County of Gaston Economic Services Caseworker I/II in Gastonia, North Carolina
The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform.
- Interviews applicants or recipients for social service assistance, records information on required forms; makes computations to determine appropriate financial assistance to be allowed.
- Investigates and verifies documents related to client's information; consults with supervisory personnel on complex cases or actions.
- Conducts follow up evaluations on clients according to a defined time and case management schedule.
- Advises applicant of approval or denial of benefits or services; provides explanation of right of appeal and client responsibilities for continued benefits or services.
- Reads and interprets written policies and procedures applicable to federal, state and local laws related to public service assistance.
Minimum Qualifications
ESCI: Graduation with a high school diploma or GED equivalency. NC Fast Core Certification and Level I Core Trainings required.Must have strong computer skills, exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
ESCII: Graduation with a high school diploma or GED equivalency with one year of eligibility experience as an Income Maintenance Case Worker required. NC Fast Core Certification and Level i Core Trainings required.Must have strong computer skills, exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Certifications must be attached to application to be considered for further review. Failure to attach your certification may result in your application being rejected.
Additional Information
Pay Scale: ESCI: $16.64-$28.28/hr ESCII: $18.34-$31.18/hr
Minimally qualified applicants will start at 25% of the salary range: ESCI: $19.55/hr ESCII: $21.55/hr
The applicant selected must undergo and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.
