About the Job

The Inside Sales Manager will possess the ability to manage customer service and inside sales team activities across the company. You will respond to and maintain ownership of customer inquiries regarding company products and services. You will direct customers to the appropriate subject matter expert (SME) and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction. You will support the sales team by developing and maintaining positive customer relationships, which substantially affect product revenue. You will also work with various departments to ensure accurate and timely response to customer requests for information, quotations, and purchase orders. You will work with customers, distributors and sales reps to understand, document and close customer deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vision and Expectations:

  • Set a vision and establish clear expectations for the Customer Response Team, aligning team goals with overall business objectives.

  • Team Development:

  • Provide guidance, development, and motivation to team members to achieve exceptional results.

  • Conduct regular career development sessions and assist in the creation of sales training materials.

  • Sales Activities:

  • Conduct inside sales activities, including prospecting, developing opportunities, preparing quotes, and closing sales.

  • Lead the customer RFP/RFQ review and response process to ensure competitive and timely submissions.

  • Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Must possess exceptional integrity and demonstrate a high level of initiative, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and driving team success.

  • Expand industry knowledge and enhance the sales approach to better serve customers and align with market trends.

    • Coordinate with various departments and subject matter experts to provide customers with accurate and timely information regarding quotes, purchase orders, product lead times, expedites, and cancellations.
  • Work closely with Sales Operations to recommend process improvements in customer communications, service levels, and export compliance.

  • Translate customer requirements and requests for quotations into proposals, quotations, and purchase orders.

  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Champion continuous improvements in quoting and order processing, leveraging feedback and performance metrics.

  • Support and utilize ERP systems for quotes, customer management, CRM, and sales.

  • Reporting and Metrics:

  • Support forecast and sales activity reporting to track team performance and sales pipeline.

  • Update and maintain the sales database, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.

  • Industry Knowledge:

Qualifications Job Requirements:

  • BS in business or related, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in customer service or sales support.

  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory or team lead experience.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong computer skills, proficient in ERP, Excel, and CRM customer tracking software.

  • Must be proficient in negotiation, influencing, and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills and strong customer orientation.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Analytical mindset.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
