Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability. This role involves working with electro-mechanic systems, including 3 phase 480V electrical systems, controls ladder logic, and preventive maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair production and facilities equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability.

  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions using blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs.

  • Work with production associates and management to resolve production issues and ensure maximum production efficiency.

  • Observe mechanical devices in operation to identify causes of trouble.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and troubleshoot/repair processing, filling, and packaging production equipment.

  • Use the SAP Work Order system to initiate purchase orders for parts and machines and document hours worked on applicable work orders.

  • Fabricate, disassemble, and assemble production equipment to remove defective parts.

  • Investigate electrical and instrument equipment failures and develop action plans to eliminate repetitive failures.

  • Install, move, and relocate machinery/equipment according to blueprints and other drawings.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and equipment manuals.

  • Weld, perform sheet metal work, and employ basic shop floor skills (lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools).

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of three years' experience in repair and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment.

  • Experience with control panels, PLCs, lift systems, conveyor shaft, motor, and bearing replacement.

  • Technical knowledge in DCS/PLC control systems, high voltage equipment, PLC applications, line drives, process instrumentation, and data acquisition.

  • Experience with Allen Bradley Control Logix Processors and RSLogix 5000.

  • Understanding of control system design and network communication interfaces.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair 3 phase 480V electrical systems and controls ladder logic.

  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in the food and beverage manufacturing industry is a plus.

  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor with customers and co-workers.

  • Welding and heavy equipment experience.

  • Ability to perform sheet metal work and employ basic shop floor skills.

  • Experience with SAP Work Order system.

Work Environment

You will work in a food and beverage manufacturing industry environment that is not climate controlled. The position involves working the 3rd shift from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM. The pay is $33.50 with pay bump to $35/hr after 6 mos.
