Compensation Data

Salary Range: $117,149 - $93,719

Job Summary

Following routine protocols and procedures under the supervision of the Director of Health, Safety and Environmental; performs environmental compliance activities. Prepares AQMD emission reports, Toxic Release Inventory reports, storm water reports, CUPA, and other regulatory reports and conducts environmental and safety audits. Investigate safety mishaps. Completes the actions derived from internal audits and manages the internal document control system.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare environmental compliance reports and documents, maintain chemical usage logs, and calculate emissions.

  • Conducted facility audits for various regulatory compliance and maintained records.

  • Manage wastewater and process chemistry analysis.

  • Safety, environmental, and facility project management,

  • Wastewater treatment monitoring. Hazardous waste management

  • Will be required to interact with regulatory agency inspectors.

  • Must exchange routing information appropriately, requiring good oral and written communication skills.

Ability to manage and maintain site-specific HSE standards, metrics, and compliance management systems; maintain EHS programs such as HAZCOM, emergency response, ergonomics, Health monitoring program, lock-out/tag-out, machine guarding, fall protection, electrical safety, Job safety assessment, incident investigation, hazardous waste management, and spill prevention.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Chemical, Environmental, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.

  • Three (3) years of experience in the environmental health and safety field with working knowledge/experience in emissions calculations, industrial safety, AQMD, Storm water, Hazardous waste/material regulations, and OSHA regulations.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Visio.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Stoichiometry for chemical calculation, and knowledgeable in chemistry.

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Access is a plus but not required.

  • Experience in ISO 45001 and ISO 18001 is a plus.

  • Ability to address issues involving several concrete variables, in standardized situations.

  • Ability to lead small groups in problem-solving exercises.
