Receptionist (Temporary)

EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for over 62,888 people in need through 100 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a temporary Receptionist for the Administration Department for a length of time of 2-3 months.

The Receptionist position is an non- exempt position paying $20 per hour . The work schedule is Monday-Friday 9:00AM-5:00PM. The office is located in Garden City, NY. The role reports to the Accounting and Senior Administrative Coordinator.

Primary Purpose of Job:

Receptionist is responsible for providing reception, administrative, and operational support to the administrative office.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide office reception at the administrative office.

  • Answer, screen and direct phone calls.

  • Sort and distribute daily mail; deposit outgoing mail.

  • Perform clerical duties for Senior Administrative Coordinator and Administrative departments as needed.

  • Maintain daily attendance for the administrative office.

  • Maintain postage meter, copier, fax machine, and conference room calendar.

  • Make copies and scan all Payment Requests required for claims.

  • Attach checks to associated Payment Requests for signature and stamp all invoices as “paid”.

  • Complete certain predetermined Payment Requests on a monthly basis (space rental, company attorney, accountant, telephone, payroll delivery, copier, water, etc.).

  • Perform all other relevant duties as determined by supervisor.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

  • Minimum of one year of prior office experience required.

  • Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, and email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.

  • Ability to work in the office 5 days per week.

  • Excellent customer services skills, pleasant phone manner, and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Ability to bend, reach, and stoop to file documents and manage office equipment.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
