Your new role – challenging and future-oriented - You will...
Identify and elaborate opportunities to leverage Generative AI in Green Software Engineering.
Utilize machine learning and rule-based methods to reduce the CO2 footprint and maintenance efforts of software systems by improving design quality, optimizing resource usage, and reducing energy consumption.
Apply and evaluate your findings in the migration of an industrial legacy system adhering to principles of Green Software Engineering.
Support bi-annual assessments of porting success by evaluating conformance to GreenCode standards and technical value proposition.
Furthermore, generalize the identified sustainability practices into a value-oriented software engineering processes, focusing on Software as a Service (SaaS) evolution.
You publish and present research results at academic/industrial conferences and journals.
Finally, drive the discussion on main research questions and present their relevance for Siemens.
Your qualifications – solid and appropriate - You have...
M.Sc. degree in Informatics, Computer Science, Information Technology or similar.
Convince with solid understanding of natural language processing (NLP) concepts and techniques.
Have initial hands-on experience in Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLMs)
In addition, you have initial experience in deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
Deep understanding of software engineering applied in a variety of use cases and projects is a prerequisite
Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, C#.
Last but not least: very good written and oral English skills are required (C1). German skills would be an advantage (>B1)
