Your new role – challenging and future-oriented - You will...

  • Identify and elaborate opportunities to leverage Generative AI in Green Software Engineering.

  • Utilize machine learning and rule-based methods to reduce the CO2 footprint and maintenance efforts of software systems by improving design quality, optimizing resource usage, and reducing energy consumption.

  • Apply and evaluate your findings in the migration of an industrial legacy system adhering to principles of Green Software Engineering.

  • Support bi-annual assessments of porting success by evaluating conformance to GreenCode standards and technical value proposition.

  • Furthermore, generalize the identified sustainability practices into a value-oriented software engineering processes, focusing on Software as a Service (SaaS) evolution.

  • You publish and present research results at academic/industrial conferences and journals.

  • Finally, drive the discussion on main research questions and present their relevance for Siemens.

Your qualifications – solid and appropriate - You have...

  • M.Sc. degree in Informatics, Computer Science, Information Technology or similar.

  • Convince with solid understanding of natural language processing (NLP) concepts and techniques.

  • Have initial hands-on experience in Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLMs)

  • In addition, you have initial experience in deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.

  • Deep understanding of software engineering applied in a variety of use cases and projects is a prerequisite

  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, C#.

  • Last but not least: very good written and oral English skills are required (C1). German skills would be an advantage (>B1)
