Center of Excellence Integration Engineer (Hybrid, Gallarate)

The Center of Excellence Engineer role represents a senior level technical competency in the fields of product and solution technical development. Center of Excellence encompasses both product and custom developed aspects of AVEVA-based solution. This role is responsible for developing and testing new solution features and fixing application issues related to custom product and combined AVEVA solutions. The COE-ENG represents the Practice Development Team leading up to build and maintain the Solutions delivered by the Customer Support Organization. This engagement provides the Center of Excellence Engineer with the opportunity to gather and retain code and programming expertise on the delivered solution.

Job Purpose:

Center of Excellence Engineer employs a combination of solutions, and application-specific software skills to:

  • Work closely with our DEV and SUPPORT teams to master the customer solutions.

  • Research, identify, develop and recommend program part to address new features and application issues identified in the field or in-house.

  • Help customers adopting new solutions, and address any potential technical problem

  • Assist Application Engineers (L2) with site-specific difficulties during new site commissioning as well as system upgrades and expansions.

  • Participate in power monitoring system development projects post release and in pilot to contributing providing information, executing test scenarios and typical use-cases, and participating in product development and testing, unit-tests.

  • Resolve technical problems from internal escalation about application engineers, and engineering teams.

  • Identify and qualify product and solution failures and assist on the engineering in understanding and resolving them.

  • Contribute documenting of new solution features using our Knowledge Base tool.

  • Design, plan, research, evaluate and test complex systems used to monitor and/or control the program execution into the systems

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in software, database and/or troubleshooting, diagnosis and problem solving

  • SQL Database querying and programming experience

  • Programming experience (5 years minimum is desirable)

  • Understanding of SCADA and HMI standard is highly advantageous.

  • Ability to travel to various customer sites in the region and worldwide

  • Manufacturing Execution System experience (MES) and Knowledge of AVEVA products will be very helpful.

  • Engineering degree in Electrical, Power Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent is desirable.

  • On-site or off-site advanced technical support experience

  • Understanding of control systems and PLC

  • C#, HTML5 coding experience (Web Application)

  • Controls or transformer protection experience

  • Experience with CRM systems

  • Bilingual: English and French/Italian/German/Dutch an asset.
