Job Description
Must be able to read blueprints and check detail parts to blueprint dimensions and know weld symbols as well as weld assemblies.
Must know how to apply proper welding rod to proper metal using color code system.
Must work per WPS (Weber Process Specifications).
Must be able to use scale, calipers, and micrometers
Must be able to set up fixtures properly and make quality welds and parts.
Must be able to qualify for MVP certification.
Must be able to perform other duties as required.
Employee is expected to follow all safety regulations, keep work area in a clean and orderly condition, and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required for the assigned work area(s). Performs safety related duties as assigned.
Complementary Description
Types of equipment will depend on area of assignment but may include: tig, welding machine, belt sander, and grinder.
Job Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent required.
One to three years of related experience required – equivalent education and background may be substituted for experience in some areas.
Requires a thorough understanding of shop practices and procedures.
Must be able to read and interpret average to complex blueprints, drawings, diagrams, tolerance information, route sheets, work orders, safety guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Employee must be able to obtain and maintain all required certifications and licenses.
Must be certified on 1 material and be able to qualify for OSI certification.
