Job Description:

The University of Florida Lastinger Center for Learning’s mission is to improve the quality of teaching, learning, and childcare. Responsibilities:

Data infrastructure management

  • Supervises and provides complex technical design, implementation, maintenance, administration, and support of cloud and on-premise data infrastructure.

  • Identifies, evaluates, supports, and solves complex issues related to storage, reporting, analysis, and sharing of data within UF’s guidelines, IRB, and state and federal requirements.

Data project leadership

  • Participates in the planning and administration of data project budgets.

  • Resolves escalated problems referred by leaders or staff.

  • Prepares long and short-range plans for selection, systems development, systems maintenance, production activities and for necessary support resources related to the center’s data needs and goals.

  • Plans and coordinates project schedules and related activities.

Data team supervision

  • Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of members of the data management team.

Other duties as assigned

Will travel for assigned business purpose minimally (1-2/quarter)

To achieve this, the Lastinger Center offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule that aligns with the university’s Flexibility in the Workplace Policy. Allowing employees to stagger arrival and departure times as necessary and to vary the number of workdays in the office so long as an employee’s FTE commitment is fulfilled within the university workweek. This policy also allows for occasional, incidental remote work based on individual circumstances.

Expected Salary:

$98,000- $105,000

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree and four years of relevant experience; or an associate’s degree and six years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Azure administrator and data experience, training and/or certifications

  • Communication skills: ability to use data to tell compelling stories, both within the team and with external stakeholders.

  • Solution finding skills: the ability to navigate ongoing changes related to new data sources and evolving business requirements.

  • Learning mindset: data professionals who enjoy learning new skills and adapting to changes in their environment, tools, and responsibilities at pace.

  • Business acumen: understand business needs, and then identify, define, and resolve business problems leveraging data.

  • Ability to frame data insights in terms of business value.
