LifeSouth Community Blood Centers Maintenance Specialist in Gainesville, Florida

This position is responsible for the overall planning and execution of activities related to skilled maintenance, and upkeep of facilities and grounds.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Perform minor vehicle, equipment, and facility repairs.

  • Perform checks of facility ventilation and lighting systems and repair as needed, to include ballast or fixture replacements.

  • Perform preventative cleanings and maintenance on ice machines, water heaters, and water pumps.

  • Perform inspections and repair of plumbing fixtures to include sinks, toilets, and urinals.

  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on critical equipment that may include refrigeration, processing equipment, and other blood banking equipment.

  • Ensure all work orders associated with vehicle maintenance, including maintenance required by outside vendors, are completed prior to all deadlines

  • Move or relocate equipment as needed.

  • Perform basic grounds maintenance as needed

  • Travel to other locations to perform repair tasks or assist with repair tasks.

  • Must have consistent and reliable transportation.

  • Attendance is a requirement of this position.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Two years of prior facilities experience required.

  • Ability to organize and manage time effectively

  • Basic computer skills and experience with computer programs such as MS Office

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Valid drivers license. Must also meet and maintain LifeSouth drivers eligibility requirements

With more than 45 donor centers, 55 bloodmobiles and 2,000 blood drives a month, our LifeSouth team is dedicated to making sure the blood is there when you or your family is in need.
