Job Description:
The Department of Otolaryngology is seeking a highly motivated applicant for a Laboratory Technician II position with duties to include:
Execute dose escalation studies and handle administration of drug treatments in accordance with
IACUC protocols using murine models of chronic sinusitis.
Establish and conduct studies with primary cell human sinonasal epithelial cells and fibroblast.
Develop, organize and conduct flow cytometric analysis and data interpretation of murine and human
airway tissues.
Perform tissue processing, sectioning and routine histology/immunohistochemistry of murine airway
tissues.
Assist lab manager with ordering and inventorying of lab supplies.
Retrieve and process human tissue samples from the operating rooms and clinical of our clinical
collaborators. This includes cataloging samples, establishing cell new primary cell lines and processing
samples as appropriate for future experiments.
Expected Salary:
$18.00 an hour
Minimum Requirements:
Associate's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of related experience or a high
school diploma and six years of related experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical
training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with mice and/or immunological assays is preferred.
