Finance Implementation Team Lead for Accounts Payable

Job Description:

This position acts as the Accounts Payable Team Lead on the Workday Finance Implementation Team. The AP Team Lead collaborates with Accounts Payable and Vendor Management process owners, stakeholders, and other impacted parties to identify and document detailed business requirements and process controls and develop future state business process workflows, report definitions, and security roles based on requirements and industry-leading practices. The AP Team Lead is also responsible for managing interactions across process owners, stakeholders, and other workstreams and ensuring the timely completion of deliverables per the project plan.

Facilitates sessions to map out current and proposed Accounts Payable and Vendor Management processes and requirements to ensure engagement with functional owners, subject matter experts, and end-user representatives. Collaborates closely with the implementation partner to translate institutional and stakeholder requirements into the new system's configuration. Works closely with other workstream leads and business partners to understand business processes, goals, and gaps. Assesses current Accounts Payable and Vendor Management policies and procedures and recommends relevant changes.

Learns key software capabilities and how they can be applied to meet Accounts Payable and Vendor Management requirements and provides input into the design of business solutions. Maps legacy data to new system data structures and validates conversion. Develops and executes test scenarios and assists in developing end-user training and guides.

Assists with problem-solving to overcome obstacles encountered by the team and elevates issues to the project manager when necessary. Regularly communicates project status to project manager and Empowering UF team.

Expected Salary:

$85,000 - $95,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in implementing and configuring a large-scale ERP, including setup and maintenance of financial structures, chart of accounts, and accounting rules.

  • Strong understanding of financial processes, accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think through issues and provide alternate, well-defined solutions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality results within established timelines.

  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet project deadlines
