Job Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and responsible individual to join our team as a Non-Emergency Medical Vehicle Driver. The primary responsibility of this role is to safely transport patients to and from medical appointments, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the journey. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, exceptional customer service skills, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

  1. Safely operate a non-emergency medical vehicle to transport patients to and from medical appointments, rehabilitation centers, and other healthcare facilities.
  2. Ensure the comfort and safety of patients during transportation, including assisting with boarding and exiting the vehicle, securing mobility aids, and providing any necessary assistance.
  3. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving and maintain a clean driving record. The employee must have a valid driver's license to drive their personal vehicle or a company vehicle to various worksite locations as required by the employe r :
  4. Maintain the cleanliness and proper maintenance of the vehicle, including regular inspections, refueling, and reporting any mechanical issues.
  5. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, healthcare providers, and patients to coordinate transportation schedules and ensure timely arrivals.
  6. Maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times, respecting their privacy and dignity.
  7. Complete required documentation accurately and promptly, including mileage logs, trip reports, and incident reports.
  8. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including compliance with background checks and drug testing requirements for employment.

Qualifications:

  1. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. The employee must have a valid driver's license to drive their personal vehicle or a company vehicle as required by the employer to various worksite locations.
  2. Previous experience as a driver, preferably in a healthcare or transportation setting.
  3. Ability to pass a background check and drug test as a condition of employment.
  4. Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  5. Compassionate and patient-centered approach when interacting with patients.
  6. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  7. Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
  8. Flexibility to work variable hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to lift and maneuver mobility aids, such as wheelchairs and walkers, as needed.
  2. Ability to sit for extended periods and operate a vehicle for long distances.
  3. Good vision and hearing to ensure safe driving and communication with patients.
