Job Description:
The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) is the nation’s first national nutrition education program for populations with limited financial resources. Funded by USDA NIFA, the UF/IFAS Extension EFNEP remains at the forefront of nutrition education efforts to reduce nutrition insecurity.
The UF/IFAS Extension EFNEP Data Management Analyst I is responsible for developing and maintaining databases used to track, analyze, and report on data collected across the program. The Data Management Analyst I leads the Data Entry Processor through their duties of data entry and review. This role will also lead all program evaluation efforts including but not limited to data collection, submission, storage, management, analysis, and reporting. This role is responsible for creating and maintaining tools, guidance, documentation, and training regarding these evaluation topics. In addition, this role will train other EFNEP staff on utilizing several reporting tools such as the online database Web-NEERS (Web-based Nutrition Education Evaluation and Reporting System) and internal tools using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Power Apps. This position is also responsible ensuring entry and accuracy of data; helping prepare data to submit for federal review; and producing reports as required.
This position will also require a strong technological acumen, able to research new technologies and consider how they can be applied to EFNEP, and implement these technologies as needed.
Data Management
Ensure that data are submitted timely by county teams, and accurate for annual reports to the national office.
Oversee Data Entry Processor in entering data in a timely, efficient and accurate manner.
Liaise between the Data Team and counties to address and resolve data findings and concerns.
Maintain the internal data log and WebNEERS data entry to ensure consistent internal and external reporting.
Identify and resolve inconsistencies, missing values, and errors from data gathered from thousands of program participants.
Clean data by standardizing data formats and handling outliers to ensure data quality and accuracy.
Review data regularly for accuracy and resolve routine problems.
Facilitate submission of data from counties with EFNEP to the EFNEP State Office.
Lead state efforts for annual reporting projects to federal sponsor.
Prepare data for final submission to sponsor.
Provide updates on status of data entry to the EFNEP Associate Director.
Manage IRB submissions and renewals.
Program Evaluation
Lead all program evaluation related efforts.
Create and maintain documentation and guidance regarding data collection, submission, and storage processes and procedures.
Maintain and optimize evaluation tools including physical evaluation forms and Qualtrics surveys.
Monitor internal reporting tools including Excel spreadsheets, SharePoint sites, Power BI dashboards, and dynamic Power Apps to promote program success.
Support EFNEP staff across the state and train on evaluation tools.
Ensure compliance with regulatory privacy standards of sponsor agencies related to the use and security of confidential information.
Participate in national committees and technology groups to pioneer innovate new technologies in EFNEP
Data Support
Provide support to EFNEP staff throughout the state on policies and procedures related to data collection, submission, and reporting.
Provide training to county and state level users on using various data reporting tools and systems including but not limited to WebNEERS, Power BI dashboards, and Power Apps.
Create and maintain procedures for county staff on data collection, tracking, and reporting.
Develop and provide orientation guidance and training to the staff.
Manage supporting training materials, such as program evaluations manuals and tutorials.
Evaluation Enhancement
Explore ways to improve program evaluation process and methods through research.
Learn and train independently on new methods and tools that could be beneficial to the success of the program.
Liaise with state and county staff on finding areas of improvement for current program evaluation methods related to data collection, submission, entry, and reporting.
Work closely with the Data Enry Processor to streamline the data entry process and resolving errors and concerns with program data.

Additional Details:
This is full-time, time-limited, grant funded position.
Some overnight travel required.

Expected Salary:
$53,000 to $55,000 commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in STEM related field
Passion for data and technology
Fluent in English and Spanish.
Experience with Excel and/or data analysis programs.
Experience with and/or knowledge of Power BI dashboards.
Experience with and/or knowledge of Power Apps.
Experience with SharePoint sites.
