Job Description:
The University of Florida College of Education invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Counseling and Counselor Education to join a collaborative, energetic community committed to preparing quality counselors and engaging in important service. The CACREP-accredited Counselor Education program, housed within the School of Human Development and Organizational Studies in Education, offers M.Ed./Ed.S. and Ph.D. degree programs, in addition to undergraduate courses in the Bachelor of Educational Sciences program. The program has consistently been ranked in the top 10 by the US News & World Report and was recently ranked number one in the nation.
The program seeks colleagues who will contribute to the goals of the program in one (or more) of three master’s-level specialty tracks: Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, and School Counseling and the doctoral program. Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to teach courses and mentor graduate students in the Master’s/Specialist program and in the Ph.D. in Counseling and Counselor Education program. Expected Salary:
Salary is negotiable, competitive, and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Minimum Requirements:
- An earned doctorate in counselor education or closely related field awarded by the time of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
Evidence of commitment to collaboration with faculty, students, and clinical site-based personnel
Record of teaching experience in higher education in the areas of mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, school counseling, or related field
Licensed as a LMHC, LMFT, or certified as a school counselor
Teaching, research, and/or service experiences with students from a wide range of backgrounds and lived experiences
