Job Description:

Installation and Support

The candidate will be responsible for the installation, support and enhancement of various software packages both open source and vendor solutions. This includes working with linux and windows systems in a system admin capacity, working with various virtualization technologies such as VMware and docker. Support of these applications often requires custom coding using various languages such as python, R, Java. The primary focus will be enhancement of the OMOP and imaging infrastructure, which will require the implementation of API’s to automate and enhance data processing and data integration specifically related to OMOP.The candidate will interact with, and must communicate effectively, with a range of experts in clinical and health services research, database modeling, statistical methods, machine learning, simulation, and other advanced analytic approaches. The candidate will use tools for business intelligence and analytics such as the SAP product stack, spreadsheets, and Python visualization methods to provide reports to aid analysis that supports decision makers.

Analysis and Design

The position will interact with, and must communicate effectively, with a range of experts in clinical and health services research, database modeling, statistical methods, machine learning, simulation, and other advanced analytic approaches. The candidate will use tools for business intelligence and analytics such as the SAP product stack, spreadsheets, and Python visualization methods to provide reports to aid analysis that supports decision makers. The candidate will recommend strategies to facilitate growing research demand for healthcare data and analysis. The candidate will design, develop, test, and document systems with minimal guidance from the supervisor or project manager. The candidate will use source control management and configuration management tools to document and standardize systems management. The candidate will troubleshoot applications, maintain installed systems, produce and maintain documentation, and conduct application quality assurance.

Research Data Request Processing

A primary role for this position is to enhance the OMOP infrastructure. Specifically, the candidate will develop data-driven health and medical related solutions in support of OMOP/ATLAS. The candidate will formulate and define system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify complex information systems. The candidate will use Python, SQL and other database software platforms to extract, transform, and analyze data. The candidate will document and share knowledge developed to grow communal knowledge around software and data techniques.

Expected Salary:

$80,000 - $85,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, statistics, information systems, or related field.

• Experience with data standards and formats, modeling, database design, analysis and reporting tools, project management and familiarity with health care information systems.

• Proven track record of architecting and deploying software solutions

• Excellent communication skills, with both technical and non-technical audiences

• Willingness to do the work necessary to meet deadlines.

• System Administration experience with Linux and Windows, including familiarity with virtualization technologies Docker, VMware, Podman.

• In-depth knowledge of SQL.

• In-depth knowledge of Python and java, familiarity with R

• Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
