Job Description:

The Academic Program Specialist I functions as the Academic Coordinator for the PharmD program by working with the faculty and instructional design team for smooth course delivery by providing logistic support, general student guidance, and oversight of course learning and assessment activities from a general educator’s perspective. The incumbent acts as a primary liaison between faculty and students and communicates effectively with a broad range of people including College administrators such as the student affairs office, faculty, students, and other staff. Builds exams in the ExamSoft platform and disseminates all exam materials. Effectively communicates with distant campuses to ensure course delivery across the PharmD program on 3 campuses. Requires strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage multiple competing deadlines, and document and maintain records of student professionalism, and attendance/performance across courses. Must collaboratively participate as a team member and contribute to accomplishing the team responsibilities and demonstrate initiative when new situations or problems are encountered, identify when input is needed from others, and solve problems with appropriate oversight.

Duties include:

  • Coordinate Course Delivery:Assist the Assistant Dean of Curricular Affairs with submitting required textbook information by deadline. Assist instructional designers with placement of course activities on the e-Learning system and with finalizing/maintaining syllabi on the college website. Maintain the gradebook and collaborate with course leaders in monitoring student performance. Serve as first contact to students about general course logistics. Other duties related to supporting course delivery.

  • Classroom and Assessment Coordination and Support:Responsible for the creation, preparation, administration, and oversight of all classroom materials and/or activities, along with any assessment activities, quizzes, or examinations. Enter all quizzes and exams into ExamSoft and/or Canvas. Coordinate administration of examinations and proctor graded assessments. Transmit all teaching materials and exams to the distant campuses within the established timeframes.

  • Assist in compiling administrative reports and documentation, collecting or compiling data.

Expected Salary:

$50,000/year

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree that includes educational coursework such as curriculum and instruction and two years of appropriate experience. Prior knowledge of University of Florida policies and procedures. Preferred experience includes use of learning management systems and experience with educational programs.
