Flexsteel Industries Category Manager - Soft Seating - China/Vietnam in Futian District, China
Description
Applicants must reside in China or Vietnam to be considered for this role*
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct and manage the development of sourced product operations and new product introductions to meet quality, production and shipping goals of the organization.
Build a strong QC/QA team that has the knowledge of managing quality control, quality system maintenance for all customers including big-box.
Works with Flexsteel marketing team on product development, improve speed to market and following up to ensure samples are produced on-time and in accordance with material specifications and design requirements including support of show / market requirements.
Leverage the engineering background to drive innovation projects and secure potential IP.
Partner with Flexsteel Corporate Functions (HR, Legal, Finance, Sourcing, Quality, Product Development & Engineering, and Business Units) to align the China Operations Team with business requirements.
Leverage vendor score card to create a vendor optimization plan
Other duties as assigned from home office sourcing team
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
10+ years in Asia sourcing and supplier management experience.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent is required, engineering background (not limited to motion furniture, but experienced in motion is a plus)
Motion furniture experience with Costco is also a plus.
7+ years people and office management experience are required.
Thorough knowledge of market changes that have the potential to impact / influence company operations.
Significant travel within Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and market trip to the US required.
Must be fluent in Chinese and English
Team leader to drive motivation of the team, continue to finetune process and proactively managing supplier scorecard to prevent and resolve potential issues
Speed to market is the key and move fast and think outside of box to deliver the best options to remove obstacles and exceed the deliverables
