The Japan Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, generate demand and drive sales within Japan. This role requires a deep understanding of Japanese culture, customer and sub-dealer behavior, and market trends, as well as fluency in both Japanese and English.
This position reports to Rich Lane, the Commercial General Manager, JAPAC and is part of the Japan Commercial Team and the wider Japan & APAC Commercial Team. This is a remote role, based in Japan. At Abcam, our vision is to be the most influential life sciences company for researchers worldwide.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Be our marketing leader in Japan, developing, implementing, and managing marketing strategies and campaigns tailored to the Japanese market.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including global brand and marketing team, global product development, Japanese sales and customer service, to develop impactful Japanese demand generation initiatives.
Create and manage content for various marketing channels, including digital channels E.g. abcam.com, email newsletters, nurture campaigns, social media and traditional channels E.g. printed media, conferences and events, ensuring all content is culturally relevant and engaging.
Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing activities and make data-driven decisions to optimize results to ensure all initiatives are cost-effective and within budget.
Build and maintain partnerships with key external regional partners. (Sub-Dealers, platform partners, agencies, KOLs, other Danaher OpCos etc)
The essential requirements of the job include:
Fluency in Japanese and English, both written and spoken.
Degree educated in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a scientific field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, with a focus on the Japanese market.
Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns.
Experience working with international teams and managing cross-cultural projects.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Cross cultural communication and strong interpersonal skills.
Working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data to make informed decisions.
