THIS IS A TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Position Summary:

Tidal Basin seeks a candidate for the role of Document Specialist - Travel. This role will require travel across 2-3 counties. In addition to traveling between counties. the Document Specialists - Travel will be required to travel perform case management and work closely with applicants within a program focused on disaster recovery, resiliency, and/or risk mitigation. The Document Specialist serves as a point of contact between the applicant and the program and is expected to provide exceptional customer service while assisting the client in coordinating necessary services and resources to address applicant needs. The Document Specialist will be responsible for meeting goals and objectives as assigned, complying with all applicable federal, state and local regulatory requirements, and adhering to all contractual or prescribed stakeholder expectations and requirements.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the project in a remote or onsite environment, during local office hours, Monday – Friday, excluding Holidays.

  • Performing data entry and uploading documents within the applicable systems of record

  • Managing cases in conformance with program requirements and guidelines

  • Collecting and reviewing documents and applicant information.

  • Advising and explaining program policies, rules, and forms to applicants.

  • Collecting and verifying information and/or documents from applicants.

  • Sending, receiving, analyzing, and processing electronic and hard copy correspondence, documents, and forms.

  • Answering calls received through the call center and providing customer service within the call center environment.

  • Responding to phone calls, and/or emails about program requirements and the status of applications.

  • Attending all meetings as required.

  • Performing other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.

  • Exceptional ability to articulate details in a manner understandable to a variety of individuals over the phone and via email.

  • Ability to work successfully with a diverse pool of applicants.

  • Team player with experience in multi-tasking, organizing, and prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and ability to learn new software and database/management information systems.

    Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in social services or related field preferred.

  • 2 years of work experience in disaster recovery, housing support services or programs, social services, or case management preferred.

  • Bilingual language skills in English/Spanish are a plus.
