Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), performs basic patient care activities.
Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possibly taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.
Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean and orderly.
The primary purpose of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position is to assist the professional nursing staff by providing personal nursing care to patients. The Certified Nursing Assistant has the responsibility of reporting any unusual occurrences, patient and/or employee issues, work related accidents to the Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses who are responsible for the delivery of patient care. Strives daily to give all customers very good care and promotes Valley View Medical Centers’ Standards of Behavior and other duties as assigned.Every effort has been made to make this job description as complete as possible. Required SkillsCertifications:X Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Heart Association)Must obtain with in 30 days of hire if BLS is not with American Heart Association. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Required Licenses[Arizona, United States] Nursing Assistant Valid Arizona Certified Nursing Assistant's (CNA) or Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) Licensure from an accredited school.
