Trinity Health Transporter, per diem in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida

Description:

This is a per diem (as needed) position, and there are no benefits offered. Flexible schedule is necessary as the hours could be starting as early as 6:00a or as late as 2:00p. They are 8-hour shifts, so for example: 6a - 2:30p, 11a - 7:30p, 12:00 noon - 8:30p or 2p - 10:30p. Every other weekend (Sat. & Sun.) is required.

What you will do:

  • Demonstrate skills and knowledge necessary to assure assessment, and care are appropriate to the age of patients served. Care provided is appropriate for all patients including neonates, pediatrics, adults, or geriatrics.

  • Transport patients, equipment, and/or supplies to and from various departments in the hospital. Utilize several modes of transportation and handles various types of patient equipment.

  • Promote patient safety and a safe environment at all times.

  • Perform other job-related duties within the job scope as requested by the supervisor or a dispatcher.

  • Maintain open lines of communication at all times. Maintain documentation of all transportation activities and submits to Dispatcher at end of shift.

  • Ensure Equipment storage areas are kept neat and orderly. Assist in equipment maintenance.

Education & Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED

  • Good verbal communication skills

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) card from the American Heart Association (prior to hire)
