Description Robert Half is looking for an efficient, accurate Staff Accountant to fill a position at a growing Construction company. This company is located in the Frisco, Texas region and is offering a dynamic, mulit-faceted short-term contract / contract / temporary to permanent opportunity where effort is rewarded. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, your will also be in charge of many aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you will be in charge of communicating with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, playing an active role in compliance, and looking over schedules for the reporting processes.
Key responsibilities
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Be a part of various department-wide initiatives
Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner Requirements Bank Reconciliations, QuickBooks, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR)
