Job Title: Chemical Engineer Co-Op
Summary:The position will work with experienced process and production engineers to aid the growth of productivity projects, complete actions from site Waste Elimination, Utility Reduction, Productivity, and Sustainability teams, and learn and deploy Lean/CI tools in daily production activities.
Responsibilities Include:
Learn about and experience the full operations and functions of a chemical manufacturing facility.
Participate in ideation product-specific sessions
Complete 2-4 properly scoped productivity projects for cost savings.
Create/deploy actions to improve site Sustainability and Waste Elimination
Partner with Waste, Utility reduction, and Sustainability leaders to identify actionable projects
Complete 2 site-specific projects around the topics of Utility and Waste reduction.
Qualifications:
The following are required for the role
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering
Skilled in Microsoft Office Applications
Exhibits teamwork and interpersonal excellence
Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple priorities in a short period of focus
Program Requirements:
The candidate must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of application and for at least one semester following the conclusion of the internship.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, climb, twist, turn, grasp, and move about the facility. Walking, walking on irregular surfaces, and balancing will be required. Hearing, sight to include depth perception and color vision, and the ability to speak clearly will be required. Occasional lifting and moving up to 50 lbs. and the ability to comply with PPE requirements (ability to pass a fit-test and wear a respirator is required for certain positions/locations).
The environment for this position is a Manufacturing setting, with exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noise. Candidates should be able to adapt to a traditional business environment. What We Offer:Base Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00
