SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director Laboratory Services, Lab, Admin, this position is responsible for overseeing the activities of the Clinical Lab Scientists, Medical Laboratory Technicians, Laboratory Assistants, Phlebotomists and Lab Supervisors, this includes scheduling, evaluating, corrective actions, and monitoring, within the assigned area to ensure laboratory regulations are adhered to. The Manager is responsible for the effective management, day to day operation, and safety of SAMC Lab by coordinating activities, providing technical support, and overseeing staff. The person in this role will work in collaboration with Lab Supervisors and the Lab Director.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, Medical Technology, or the equivalent is required.
Licensure by the State of California as a Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) is required.
Five (5) years of experience as a Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) or equivalent is required.
Medical Technologist (MT) certification from a governing body acceptable to the State of California (i.e., American Society for Clinical Pathology, American Medical Technologists, etc.) is required.
Qualification under CLIA regulations to function as a General and Technical Supervisor is required.
Leadership experience with an emphasis on a cooperative team approach including knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource, allocation, production methods, and coordination of people and resources is required.
Excellent communication and leadership skills to ensure patient and staff cooperation and satisfaction and ensure excellent customer service are required.
Attention to detail, excellent judgment, and business acumen, as well as the ability to multi-task and communicate in a variety of settings is required.
Pay Range ($53.14 - $79.72)
