Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

Move products by reading documents such as vendor packing slips, carrier shipping documents, UPC labels, and receiving documents. Unload bulk products such as lumber from flatbed trailers and railcars using lift equipment. Scan products using a radio frequency (RF) gun and place them in the designated area using lift equipment. Build and wrap loads of products that meet safety and efficiency requirements. Check labels on products to ensure they are applied correctly. Ensure products are scanned appropriately and orders are picked and loaded correctly. Verify that the information on paperwork such as vendor packing slips matches the product that is received from the vendor or loaded outbound. Perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting up to 75 lbs., pushing, pulling, standing for long periods of time, and moving merchandise. Identify and read vendor packing slips, carrier shipping documents, UPC labels, and receiving documents. Respond to public address system announcements and pages.

Job Type

This is a contract position with a duration of 19 Weekly.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Fremont, California.

Work Environment

Work in a lumber yard with a strong emphasis on safety; safety vests are required every day. The shift is from 4:00 am to 2:30 pm with 2 hours of overtime every day on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday, with Wednesday and Thursday off. Part-time opportunities are available on Friday and Saturday from 4:00 am to 2:30 pm. Attend and participate in meetings, comply with performance goals, and cross-train on other jobs as needed. Provide support to other teams and follow all work policies. Associates may encounter uneven walking surfaces, exposure to dust, fumes, noise, and external weather conditions. Some buildings are not climate-controlled, and associates may handle merchandise, supplies, and tools with sharp edges or hazardous materials.
