The Senior Specialist, Business System Analyst is responsible for the robust and efficient management of information flow through Supply Chain Management (SCM) relevant business systems. This role will plan, design, configure, test, and implement efficient business and systems solutions.

This role supports the assessment, implementation, utilization, and support of business systems at Boehringer Ingelheim's Biopharma site in Fremont, California. This is a multi-disciplinary role that combines basic process knowledge in biopharmaceutical operations, with system-technical and process data knowledge. The incumbent assists business functions at the Fremont site in identifying opportunities where digital solutions can lead to improvements in business processes through increased speed and efficiency and sees them through to implementation.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Acts as Key User on computer systems.

  • Supports functional users with system adaptations and utilization of capabilities.

  • Supports needs analysis, configuration, testing, and rollout activities including qualification and validation.

  • Performs operational support in conjunction with IT and other stakeholders.

  • Responsible for the ongoing monitoring and management of accurate master data related processes.

  • Responsible for the role concepts, assessment and monitoring of roles including authorization concepts for defined SCM modules and processes (incl. definition of SAP roles considering SoD).

  • Closely cooperates with other functions including second level support, global and local IS functions, production, quality.

  • Responsible for maintaining CAPAs, change requests for all SCM relevant (including production) related system enhancements.

  • Leads small to medium complexity computer system implementation and lifecycle projects and product deliverables per project requirements, including upgrades and enhancements, as well as new feature adaptations in business processes, including system validation activities as required.

  • Identifies and drives opportunities for continuous improvement using computer systems by combining systems and business process knowledge.

  • Ability to understand, extract, and utilize data from various data sources for business process understanding and improvement.

  • Acts as Key user for Business Analyst share point sites and defines and implements governance concept for relevant share points.

  • Collects and evaluates demands and requirements for share point sites.

  • Designs and customizes share point sites including authorization concepts.

  • Creates and maintains required documents including training documentation and conduction of trainings for users and admins.

  • Responsible for the ongoing support of defined BA share point sites.

  • Acts as SME regarding his expertise to function as representative for the Master Data Management Team in projects or initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma with ten (10) years of experience in pharmaceutical or related industry.

OR

  • Associates degree in Science, Business, or related discipline with eight (8) years of pharmaceutical or related industry experience.

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business, or related discipline with six (6) years of experience in pharmaceutical or related industry.

OR

  • Master’s degree with four (4) years of experience in pharmaceutical or related industry.

  • Desired experience with MES, LIMS, SAP, Lab Automation, or other production systems. MS Office, including Teams and SharePoint. Database systems/SQL. Programming skills.

  • Basic data skills (database systems, SQL) and desire to learn (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SAP I, R, SAS, Simca).

  • Experience working in the biopharmaceutical industry preferred.

  • Good project management skills.

  • Ability to work under little supervision.

  • Proactive in solving problems, presenting potential solutions, and commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with colleagues and to complete documentation.

  • Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to effectively function and manage in a dynamic, fast paced work environment.

  • Strong organizational skills.

Eligibility Requirements :

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities

This position offers a base salary typically between (83,000) and (135,000).  There is opportunity to consider higher compensation above this range based on business need, candidate experience and or skills.  The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus and or other compensation elements.  For an overview of our benefits please click here.
