Freeman Regional is hiring a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in the clinic, hospital and emergency departments.
Job Summary
Provides medical services and health education to patients under the supervision of the physician sponsor with regards to the age specific populations including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
Effectively contributes to the health education of individuals and groups and applies appropriate methods designed to increase each person’s motivation to assume responsibility for their own health care.
Meets regularly with the physician sponsor for consultation, supervision and collaboration.
Assesses, diagnoses and treats patients in the hospital according to medical staff approved protocol and acceptable standards of practice.
Education and/or Experience
Graduate of an NLN accredited school of nursing or equivalent; graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or physician assistant program required.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
An active CNP license is required.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of Multi-state licensure required.
Licensure as a physician assistant and ability to practice in the State of South Dakota is required.
Federal and State DEA certification is required for South Dakota employees.
ATLS and ACLS certifications required.
National Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCPPA) required.
Hours:
Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm in clinic; shared call; 72 hours every 2 weeks
Occasional Saturday clinic (1 in 4 weekends)
Every third holiday
Occasional call time (Hospital every fourth weekend, 1 in 4 week nights)
