Overview
TEA is currently seeking a
Training Tools Instructional Designerto join our team! The successful candidate will provide support to the Surface Combat Systems Training Center (SCSTC) providing scheduling, technical, engineering, and analytical services in support of Independent Verification and Validation (IVandV) and documentation of operator training including Computer Aided Submode Training (CAST) lessons, Lesson Generation Program (LGP), and other Interactive Courseware (ICW). This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions/Job Duties:
- Providing scheduling, technical, engineering, and analytical services in support of Independent Verification and Validation (IVandV) and documentation of operator training including Computer Aided Submode Training (CAST) lessons, Lesson Generation Program (LGP), and other Interactive Courseware (ICW).
- Conducts IVandV of Aegis Baseline (B/L) specific CAST (operator training) lessons using Government furnished computer equipment located at CSCS, Dahlgren, VA; CSEDS, Moorestown, NJ; Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC), Wallops Island, VA; and/or Fleet operating units. Assesses CAST lesson performance to assist in the definition of program enhancements and to support development decisions.
- Independently identifies and documents CAST curriculum/code discrepancies and provides reports to CSCS for collaborative review and adjudication.
- Maintains CAST lessons to AEGIS Personal Qualifications Standards (PQS) cross-reference, and CAST lessons configuration control databases.
- Develops, reviews, and/or delivers CAST lesson configuration status and CAST lesson history reports. Maintains the operator training lesson documentation for each B/L on an approved media in a format compatible with Government computer systems.
- Provides detailed analysis of all IVandV activities including documentation of line by line traceability between CAST performance in comparison to Combat System (CS) interface, design, and/or performance specifications.

Minimum Education Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
U.S. Citizenship is required
Security Clearance:
Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
