location: Frederick, Maryland

salary: $60 - 70 per hour

work hours: 8am to 4pm

responsibilities:

We are seeking a skilled QA Automation Tester to join our Quality Assurance team to help our direct Federal client. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing methodologies, including automation and manual testing, to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. This role involves designing, developing, and executing automation scripts using open-source tools and providing timely solutions to technical issues.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute automated tests to ensure product quality.

• Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts, making improvements to existing testing frameworks.

• Collaborate with the development team to identify and resolve defects.

• Analyze test results, identify issues and trends, and prepare detailed reports.

• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.

• Provide feedback and recommendations to developers on software usability and functionality.

• Participate in design and code reviews.

• Assist in the development of test strategies, planning, and execution.

• Mentor junior QA testers and help in onboarding and training processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Proven experience as a QA tester or similar role.

• Extensive experience with automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium, LoadRunner, Appium).

• strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

• Experience writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.

• Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum development processes.

• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to understand complex documentation.

• strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.

• Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) practices.

• Knowledge of SQL and scripting.
