Salary Range -- $52,000-$97,000Depending on Experience

Section II. Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Industrial Controls Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that our customers automation systems function efficiently and reliably. You will work closely with engineers, project managers and treatment plant personnel to install, troubleshoot, and maintain a variety of control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems. Your technical expertise will enable you to diagnose complex issues and implement effective solutions to enhance system performance. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, with a focus on safety and compliance with industry standards. As an Industrial Controls Technician, you will also play a crucial role in supporting production processes, optimizing equipment functionality, and contributing to ongoing improvements in existing systems. Responsibilities

  • Design, plans, install, repair, and maintain industrial control systems including and equipment PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA, associated with water/wastewater treatment plant and pump stations.
  • Performs programming, calibration and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems and instruments.
  • Recommends improvements to equipment, processes, work methods and procedures
  • Prepares and maintains records and reports as required
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot control system malfunctions to restore operational efficiency.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on automation equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement system upgrades and modifications.
  • Document all maintenance activities, system changes, and troubleshooting processes accurately.
  • Train and support production staff on equipment usage and safety practices.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Experience within the Water and/or Wastewater treatment with specific experience in Industrial Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance

Experience in planning and successfully executing complex Industrial Electrical and Instrumentation projects

Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Strong understanding of PLC programming and troubleshooting.

Experience with HMI and SCADA systems is highly desirable.

Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus).

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Strong safety awareness and understanding of compliance standards in industrial environments.
