Insight Global PHP Developer in Franklin, Tennessee
Job Description
A company in the Nashville area is seeking a talented Backend PHP Developer to join our development team. In this role, you will work closely with our front-end developers and other team members to design, develop, and maintain backend services and integrations for our web and mobile applications. This role is a hybrid role and will work in-person from the Franklin, TN office 2 or more days a week.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain performant, scalable, and secure PHP applications.
* Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic and functionality.
* Work with databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), API integrations, and server-side logic to enhance the performance of existing applications.
* Assist in the design and development of APIs to support mobile and desktop clients.
* Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure code quality.
* Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle from initial concept to deployment and maintenance.

Skills and Requirements
* 3-5 years experience with PHP 5 & 7, building stand-alone applications (i.e., not just WordPress sites)
* 3+ years experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL, including writing queries
* Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other developers.
* Experience Consuming RESTful APIs
* Experience with Node * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
* Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
* Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
* Experience with Node.js
* Experience developing through Agile software development processes
* Experience writing APIs for web, mobile and third-party applications
* Familiarity with front-end languages (e.g., HTML, JavaScript, and CSS) null
