Franklin Investment Corp (Franklin Industries) MECHANIC / MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN in FRANKLIN, Pennsylvania

Job Purpose

As part of our team, the Highway Department mechanic will support Franklin Industries by assembling, installing, maintaining, and disassembling vital machinery as well as performing comprehensive diagnostics on all machinery to ensure maximum and safe functionality. The mechanic must log the use, state of repair, and replacement of all equipment.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assemble and install critical manufacturing machinery, ensuring accurate assemblage to minimize wear and strain on components
  • Perform preventive maintenance and accurately log all maintenance
  • Disassemble machinery and transport it to the appropriate storage location
  • Perform diagnostic tests on functioning machinery to ensure safe and efficient functionality
  • Assist on troubleshooting setups of presses

     

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Trade school diploma or vocational certificate preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience in a heavy manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Strong math, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Good understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Good mathematical skills such as machinist background or precision mechanical building of equipment

     

     

Working Conditions

  • This is a safety sensitive position. You will be around and/or operating heavy machinery.
  • Working around mechanical parts and vibrations
  • Working around some fumes, gases, fluids and chemicals
  • Working around loud noises

                                                                   

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to climb on, off, and around equipment
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for periods of time
  • Ability to bend, twist, lift, turn as needed
  • Ability to lift item (occasionally very heavy, up to 100 pounds)
  • Ability to use wrists, hands, and/or fingers for various repetitive motions
  • Ability to verbally communicate
  • Good eye acuity, depth perception, field of vision (with or without accommodation)

     

Essential Job Functions

  • Follow directions from Maintenance Group Leader and Mill Maintenance Manager
  • Complete assignments from CMMS
  • Complete monthly safety training

  • Copy/Fax machines 
  • Radios
  • Measuring devices
  • Large and small tools
  • Gauges
  • All equipment within department/plant.
