DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
- As an Environmental Education Specialist, you will assist with the planning and development of wildlife education programs and activities for schools, conservation organizations, community groups, and interested parties throughout the ten counties of the Northwest Region of the state. Primary duties involve conducting and assisting with teacher pre-service and in-service training programs for schools and post-secondary institutions on a variety of topics including, but not limited to, Project Wild, Growing Up Wild, PA Songbirds, PA Biodiversity, Project Learning Tree, Wildlife Forensics, and various species-specific programs like Wild about Elk, Turkey, and Deer.
- You will also have the exciting opportunity to assist with the regions Junior Game Warden Camp, the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP), and to participate in regional marketing, outreach, and communication including the Northwest Region Facebook and other social media outlets. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential in order to facilitate programs for a variety of public groups.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Limited-term, full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Some weekend work may be necessary.
- Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in environmental education, education, the natural sciences, social sciences, or parks and recreation; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Conditions of Employment:
- Willingness to work weekends and evenings.
- Willingness to wear a prescribed uniform.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
