TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR I

Typical Starting Salary is $17.81 - 23.39/hr

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Environmental Services, Water Division, Winnipesaukee River Basin Bureau has a full time vacancy for a Treatment Plant Operator.

Summary:

Assists in the daily operations of the Winnipesaukee River Basin Program's facilities; including pump stations and collection system to ensure proper operation and compliance with State and Federal regulations.

YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

:

Education:

High school diploma or high school equivalency credential. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience:

Two years of experience in a waste or water treatment plant or a related industry.

License/Certification:

Must have a NH Wastewater Operator 1-OIT minimum or ability to obtain minimum license within 1 year with training provided by the WRBP.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

:

Must be in good health as job requires occasional strenuous activity, including climbing ladders and heavy lifting. Must work a schedule which includes weekend and holiday rotation. Must be willing to respond to callbacks and to participate in rotating, on-call duty for snowplowing and SCADA. Must be willing to carry a pager or cell phone to receive notification of callbacks.Must have basic computer literacy forMicrosoft Office Explorer (internet) and Outlook (email) applications, with preference given to individuals with basic knowledge of Word and Excel. Preference will be given for individuals with Grade II or higher wastewater treatment plant operators license.
