Job Description

This position is within a pediatric outpatient clinic connected to the hospital. The team seeks someone eager to learn and grow within the organization. The clinic handles approximately 120-150 patients monthly, depending on walk-ins and scheduled appointments. The patient volume for this Medical Assistant will vary as they become familiar with different providers within the clinic. The majority of time (30%) will be spent assisting providers by rooming patients, obtaining blood pressure, documenting signs/symptoms, taking weight and temperature, and completing medical history documentation. Another significant portion of time (25%) will involve setting up and assisting providers with miscellaneous tasks and tests such as urinalyses, strep/flu/pregnancy tests, and other miscellaneous tests as directed by the provider. Each of the following tasks will take approximately 10% of the time: scheduling tests, radiology exams, appointments with specialists, entering check-in/check-out information in the EMR, performing prior authorizations, assisting with office exams, collecting height, weight, BMI, updating immunization records, handling phone triage, performing walk-in patient duties, and serving as a resource to visitors, providers, and staff. The remaining 5% of time will include additional duties assigned by the Practice Administrator or other leaders and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and company policies, including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Franklin, Indiana.

Work Environment

Working onsite at the pediatrics clinic located in Franklin, IN. The environment is temperature-controlled with easy access to parking. The daily schedule includes walk-ins from 8am-8:50am, appointments from 9am-11:30am, an hour lunch, appointments from 1pm-4:30pm, and closing/finishing appointments by 5pm.
