Becoming the best airline is an adventure. And our Pricing & Revenue Management team is providing fuel for that journey by ensuring that we maximize our ticket revenue on every single flight across our network – both domestically and internationally – while giving our customers various product offerings for their travel. By analyzing market trends and forecasting consumer demand, this team works hard to ensure we are selling the right number of tickets at the right price to optimize our revenue and run a profitable airline.

This position will be hired as either Associate Analyst, Analyst, Senior Analyst. The selection will be based on level of experience

Job overview and responsibilities

This position will represent United Airlines as part of the Westbound Atlantic Pricing A++ Team located at Lufthansa’s Corporate Headquarters in Frankfurt within the Lufthansa Pricing team

The Pricing Analysts are responsible for responding for industry fare filings and the development of United’s fares, including price points, restrictions and implementation thereof.

  • Market Management:

  • Responsible for matching and/or initiating fare actions in a group of markets, involving system and tactical fare filings

  • Develop appropriate market pricing strategies utilizing guidelines as set forth by Sr. Analysts, Strategic Analysts and Management

  • Utilize competitive, historical, current market trends and market place knowledge to determine the most effective way to set pricing fare structures

  • Closely monitors market performance, including fare usage, revenue, consumer segmentation behavior to develop United’s pricing strategy

  • Work closely with United’s westbound Sales team.

  • Analysis and Coordination:

  • Assess the impact of pricing actions, present relevant findings and develop recommendations

  • Responsibility for assigned pricing projects or other projects/collaterals

  • Provide support for numerous departments including Planning, Sales and Revenue Management

  • Represent the position of United Airlines on matters that impact our joint venture with Air Canada and the Lufthansa Group

  • Work closely with the United pricing team in Chicago to communicate westbound pricing changes and development

  • Analysis – Analyze pricing actions, market or product performance on a regular basis to review strategies and present findings and recommendations.

  • Coordination – Support and communicate with Sales, Planning & US based Pricing & Revenue Management teams on Europe originating pricing updates & performance trends

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a similar discipline; or related experience

  • 1 year's experience in Pricing & Revenue Management division

  • Strong Excel skills and experience manipulating large data sets required

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Ability to effectively work with other levels of the organization and outside suppliers required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

  • Ability to travel up to 20%

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Germany for any employer without sponsorship

  • Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

  • Master's degree or related experience

  • 2 + years of experience with United’s Pricing & Revenue Management division
