Description: Foxborough Regional Charter School is seeking an outstanding Integrated Arts Teacher to join our school community! Job Summary: Instructs pupils in art, such as painting, sketching, designing, and sculpturing: Prepares lesson plans and establishes course goals. Provides individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs and motivate students. Candidates should be able to demonstrate mastery of subject knowledge, common core state standards, a proven ability to manage a classroom, the desire and ability to work up to the standards of a high-performing team, and an entrepreneurial spirit and approach to teaching. Responsibilities: The successful candidate for this position will: Demonstrate knowledge of the state and school district Integrated Arts-related curriculum and academic standards; including knowledge of the ways in which learning takes place and the appropriate levels of cognitive, social, and emotional development for adolescents; Establish a respectful environment of a diverse population of students, developing a classroom learning environment in which each child has a positive, nurturing relationship with caring adults and other children; Facilitate learning for all students using a variety of instructional methods, to provide students with opportunities to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills, encourage exploration of ideas, and develop leadership qualities; Reflect on teaching practices, analyzing student learning, development, and growth and apply what is learned to improve instruction; Demonstrate leadership, advocate for the school and it’s students and exhibit high ethical standards; Take responsibility for student academic growth using a variety of assessments and ongoing improvement of instructional practice; General Expectations: Manage oneself by being organized, prepared, and punctual Manage resources, meet deadlines, follow through on commitments Act in ways that directly support the mission and vision of FRCS Learn and grow as a professional Use clear verbal and written communication and active listening skills Develop and maintain rapport and effective relationships with young children and adults contacted in carrying out duties and responsibilities by using courtesy, diplomacy, collaboration, cooperation and professional conduct Contribute to the goals and success of all teams and team members through collaboration, cooperation, and flexibility in team discussions, activities, and decision-making Maintain high ethical standards, legal responsibility, and confidentiality Qualifications- Required: Education: Hold a Bachelor’s degree. Trained and experienced in one or a combination of the following subjects: Visual Arts, Digital Art, Theater, or Dance, Physical Education experience developing lesson plans, some curriculum planning experience Passion for youth development, education and experience providing instruction for grades within K-8 range Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment. Experience serving racially and ethnically diverse student population and a committment to anti-bias, anti-racist education practices Qualifications- Preferred: Education: Hold a Master’s degree Hold a Massachusetts Teaching License in either or a combination of the following Visual Arts, Digital Art, Theater, or Dance, Physical Education on the K-8 level Must take and pass MTELs and complete of an approved educator preparation program if not already licensed Experience working in an urban school district Additional Requirements: Candidates are subject to background checks including, CORI clearance, and fingerprinting. Fingerprinting requires $35 nonrefundable fee. This position is a part of the FRCSTA bargaining unit. Salary begins at $50,000 and will commensurate with experience, including professional years of service in a school and educational attainment.
