*SUMMARY:  *The purpose of this position will work to secure an array of raw ingredients and materials for Mennel. This position will work collaboratively with Sales, R&D, Suppliers, and plant personnel in securing cost effective, quality goods that meet the organization's needs.   

This position will sustain the Mission and Motto and Food Safety and Quality Statement of the Mennel Milling Company.

PRIMARY WORK SHIFT: Monday through Friday 8AM -- 5PM. Will vary, depending on workload.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without accommodation.  *

  • Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP's, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the US FDA Food Safety Modernization Act as stated in the FS&Q Statement, and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the company as listed in Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and attend all required training sessions. Maintain the department/facility in an everyday audit ready condition.
  • Ensures the supply needs of Mennel are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Selects suitable vendors and backups to match best product requirements. 
  • Manages the complete cycle of procurement through plant approval. This includes negotiation of contracts, determining pricing models, establishing terms and conditions, and supplier support.
  • Works with Plants on forecasted needs to help secure appropriate coverage. 
  • Responsible for timely evaluation and adjustment of contracts as company needs fluctuate.
  • Maintains and supports production and financial goals.
  • Resolves pricing and quality conflicts with suppliers' stakeholders, as needed.

``` - Maintains a risk mitigation plan to identify supply risk, develop backup plans and initiate corrective actions where feasible. - Works with stakeholders in monitor suppliers' performances through KPI's. - Other duties may be assigned.

 

*SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: *This position has no supervisory duties.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job 

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain preferred, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 1 -- 3 years of experience as a sourcing or procurement technician.
  • Knowledge of and understanding in business operations and processes.
  • Must possess negotiation skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Power Point, warehouse management systems and Dynamics 365.
  • Ability to use advance warehouse system(s) to manage information for Suppliers and Materials.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
  • Ability to travel up to 5 -- 15%.
