Medtronic Sr Manufacturing Engineer in Fort Worth, Texas

In this exciting role as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer on the Fort Worth Service & Repair Engineering team, you will have responsibility for developing, sustaining, and improving a variety of processes involved in performing service & repair of distributed products. Projects supported in this role can span from capacity expansion, process validation, yield improvement, technology change implementation, quality improvement, and lean transformation initiatives. This role will collaborate with the various cross-functional teams inside and outside of the plant including but not limited to Quality, Regulatory, R&D, Operations, and Technicians. This is an in-person role with very limited travel required.

This role is at the Fort Worth facility in Americas Service Operations that primarily supports the Enabling Technologies Integrated Operating Unit under the Cranial and Spinal Technologies Operating Unit. Enabling Technologies delivers an innovative portfolio which include robotics, navigation, intra-operative imaging, advanced energy devices, powered surgical tools and systems, cerebral spinal fluid management, intelligent data solutions and critical care.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.

  • Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.

  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.

  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.

  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.

  • Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.

  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.

  • Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 4+ years of work experience in Engineering and/or Manufacturing OR Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 2 years of work experience in Engineering and/or Manufacturing.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the medical device industry, or related highly regulated industry

  • Lean Six Sigma and/or DRM Green Belt certified

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
