Lockheed Martin Software Manager (Level 4) in Fort Worth, Texas

Description: This position manages a Integrated Fighter Group (IFG)/Advanced Development Programs (ADP) Display Applications team. The IFG/ADP Display Applications Manager will be responsible for the management of development for IFG/ADP Display application software and will coordinate closely with the IFG/ADP LM Aero Program Manager and IFG/ADP Program Office teams to successfully meet milestones.

Responsibilities include:

• Work force management (re-assignments and placements, recruitment and selection of new employees and terminations) and personnel management (training, mentoring, career development, performance and compensation, and promotions).

• The successful candidate will be expected to support communications with all levels of employees, customers, and industry from engineer up to executive. Strong skills in conflict resolution, proactive communication, building collaborative relationships and other “soft skills” are desired.

• Responsible for ensuing organization’s staff is meeting all applicable program and business commitments (technical, cost, and schedule) - Provide resources (team leads and team members) to execute the program backlog

• Manages staffing, resource allocation tracking progress, preparation and maintenance of technical and process expertise within functional area

• Establish and execute the Functional long term vision (people, process, tools) in coordination with Release Engineer across the product life cycle.

• Coordinates with Architects, LOB, Release Leads to understand and identify functional resource requirements (staffing, tools, labs, etc.)

• Re-plan, and re-allocate resources as required based on release content and priorities

• Ensures critical resources are applied to alignment with overall business priorities

• Coordinates staffing changes with release leads based on program priorities

• Provides technology linkage and knowledge sharing across programs

• Coordinates resolution of technical issues across programs (as applicable) for functional area working with the architecture team.

• Collaborate with Release Engineer on necessary resources to accomplish necessary development on new capability/feature/defect correction for a given release

• Defects identified analysis is completed in a timely manner prior to being disposition by the Defect Board

• Ensure the team is not one skill set deep and promote cross training

• Collaborate with Design Architecture, SW Architecture, and Test Architecture on proposal requests

• Developing and maintain program metrics

• Establishes workforce, hiring, recruiting, and retention strategies to meet enterprise objectives

The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with previous skills and experience managing similar groups of multi-function multi-site engineers. The candidate must have a good understanding of agile software and will understand cost and schedule drivers for program execution while driving innovative and creative solutions. Previous program management experience executing highly dynamic projects within short timelines while meeting/exceeding earned value objectives is desired. Travel may be required with on average 1-2 trip per year. This position is located in Fort Worth, TX but will work closely with ADP personnel at all sites and business units that are involved with ADP development and support. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a STEM major.

Experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or system architecture

Experience of Agile Software Development

Experience in Project Management and or leadership of software teams
