RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks
Receive, prioritize, document, and actively resolve requests
Document name, department, contact information, and nature of problem or issue in ticketing system
Document successful and unsuccessful decisions made, actions taken, and resolution
Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installation/maintenance of PCs, printers, monitors, telephone desk sets, installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications
Escalate problems to the appropriately experienced analyst, engineer or developer
Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the Internet to aid in problem resolution
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science OR related field AND 0 years of experience
2 years equivalent work experience in help desk or desktop technical support role
Knowledge of basic computer hardware, including PCs, network-attached printers and Ethernet switches
Experience supporting user account management with Microsoft Active Directory
Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required
Extensive application support experience with Microsoft Office
Experience with desktop and server operating systems
Must be 18 years of age or older
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (desired but not required)
CompTIA A+, Network +, and Help Desk Institute (HDI) Certifications
Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport building, listening, and questioning skills
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Exceptional written/oral communication skills as well as customer service skills
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
Ability to absorb and retain information quickly
