ITS Technologies & Logistics Director, Safety and Regulatory Compliance in Fort Worth, Texas

Overview

The Director, Safety and Regulatory Compliance is responsible for the successful development, implementation, maintenance, communication and training of an effective Safety program, to include accident and incident investigations, data analysis and recurrence prevention processes for ConGlobal. This person will ensure all locations are following OSHA, FRA, and other state, local or industry specific regulations.

The Director, Safety and Regulatory Compliance will manage and develop a core safety team and will report to VP, Safety, Technical Training, and Operations Support.

Responsibilities

Operations Partnership

  • Evaluate from a strategic level to ensure the organization meets the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

  • Proactively plan and manage the safety objectives to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic goals.

  • Partner with leaders to ensure understanding and compliance with all safety programs, procedures and policies.

  • Explore and establish best practices and company standards in partnership with the operational leadership team.

  • Identify, influence, and implement process improvement and standardization.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally in order to accomplish strategic objectives and organizational goals

  • Serve as a resource to operational leaders.

Health and Safety Practices and Compliance

  • Create and deliver training programs that provide guidance for all employees on performing work safely.

  • Coordinate all incident investigations and root-cause analysis and recommend an improvement plan.

  • Participate in field audits and provide input on improvement opportunities.

  • Develop and drive the implementation of programs that foster a strong safety culture.

Regulatory Management

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for OSHA, FRA, DOT and environmental compliance.

  • Submit required reporting, as needed, based on events and incidents.

  • Conduct periodic calls with regulatory bodies

  • Tracks regulatory matters, issues, and /or changes in regulations, seeks to understand business impacts, and offers recommendations for compliance.

  • Identifies requirements and trains for compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, to include evaluating, determining, and executing compliance requirements.

  • Create, measure and monitor benchmarks, metrics and KPI’s to meet company-wide goals and objectives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Safety Management or related technical field

  • 10+ years of experience in Intermodal, Rail, or Operations with in-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and other regulations required

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the development and training of safety programs

  • Ability to travel by air or vehicle 50% as required to multiple states and locations

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • CET (Certified Environmental, Safety and Health Trainer) certificate preferred

  • CSP or Equivalent required

  • Valid driver’s license
