JOB SUMMARY

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Textron security team as a Cyber Security Architect. In this role you will be responsible to design, implement, and deploy procedures and controls necessary to ensure and protect the safety and security of information systems assets, including prevention of intentional or inadvertent access, modification, disclosure, or destruction. You will regularly assess effectiveness of controls and monitor for critical application and system vulnerabilities and take a leadership role to investigate and implement new technologies and processes to enhance enterprise security capabilities. The selected candidate will have a strong technical knowledge, analytical capability, and the ability to work individually and as part of a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage Enterprise Security architecture.

  • Perform evaluations of security tools / controls and technical solutions

  • Design and implement advanced detection and prevention technologies to combat emerging threats.

  • Monitor security industry information sources to develop technical security solutions to address emerging security threats & risk.

  • Lead/participate in local and global discussions/project teams to formulate new or enhance existing security policies, standards, and processes.

  • Contribute to development and evaluation of technology baseline configurations in accordance with established risk management practices.

  • Solve complex technical issues with limited supervision.

  • Participate in architecture reviews / change review boards and provide expert opinion on proposed technical solutions and processes.

  • Evaluate and perform incident escalation in accordance with organizational guidelines.

  • Participate in internal investigations on potential security breaches and work as needed with external agencies.

  • Protect and maintain the privacy of employee personnel records including, but not limited to, personal and compensation information about employees.

  • Train and mentor fellow employees in security technologies and practices.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security / Information Assurance or other relevant discipline

  • 4-6 years of relevant professional experience

  • (ISC)²/CISSP, CISM, CompTIA, GIAC or Microsoft certifications preferred.

  • Ability to obtain a secret security clearance required.

  • This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to work individually and part of a team and prioritize responsibilities based on criticality.

  • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of system & network security principles. Subject Matter expert in many Information Security disciplines / domains.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and communications skills with ability to communicate security and risk-related concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively with a broad range of people and roles, including vendors, IT, and business personnel.

  • A high level of personal integrity with the ability to handle confidential matters.

  • Demonstrated understanding of incident response processes, cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and network exploits.

  • Working knowledge of security monitoring, security event and incident management systems, Internet content filtering/reporting, and malware prevention.

  • Familiar with common server and authentication technologies.

  • Strong practical experience with anti-virus, firewall, intrusion detection/prevention, and web security technologies.
