TexasBank Assistant Division Controller in Fort Worth, Texas

*SUMMARY: *

The Assistant Division Controller plays an integral role in maintaining the financial integrity of business needs while driving efficiency and compliance. This role oversees and manages all financial activities related to mortgages within the company, this includes ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry regulations such as Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA guidelines. This position is responsible for financial reporting, reconciling loan portfolios and plays a crucial role in implementing internal controls, streamlining processes, and collaborating with auditors to ensure adherence to standards.

JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee the maintenance of loan accounting data within core, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and alignment with approved terms and legal documentation.
  • Responsible for the integrity of loan bookings and responsible for supporting a multi-process work team to ensure that loan bookings are processed accurately, in accordance with internal guidelines and within established service level standards
  • Implement controls and procedures to verify data integrity and address discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure that loan accounting and servicing activities comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards.
  • Responsible for preparing the annual budget in collaboration with Finance and business unit managers.
  • Prepare for and facilitate audits of loan operations, ensuring auditability and providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Implement processes to track and manage document exceptions and updates effectively.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness in loan accounting and servicing processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Build strong relationship with internal partners (LOB, Credit, Operations, Risk, Finance) and serve as change agent and influencer for enabling process optimization and best practices
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 0-3 years of experience in mortgage accounting or related field.
  • Solid understanding of loan documentation, entity, and deal structures to ensure correct setup and servicing requirements are established within core systems
  • Exhibit a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Jack Henry Silverlake core system
  • Comprehensive understanding of regulations impacting loan servicing across loan types within the banks portfolio.
  • Ability to review and interpret documentation to pull pertinent information to take subsequent action (examples include inputting information into core banking systems, updating existing records, performing, and reviewing loan transaction, etc.)
  • Ability to use critical thinking skills to ensure appropriate policy, procedures and guidelines are being followed
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities effectively.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • CPA Certification.
