Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Sr Principal Systems Engineer in Fort Wayne.
The BAE Systems Multi-Band Communications and Crypto (MCC) Solutions business is the primary source of VHF/UHF SATCOM Tactical Radio (TR) equipment to the Army and USAF. This team, based at Fort Wayne, is responsible for the Architecture, Specification, Development and Analysis of Mission Critical equipment in support of over the horizon mission communications. Some aspects of this work are classified.
The System Engineering group s activities include but are not limited to:
Developing coherent product specifications and design documentation from multiple disparate source documents using DOORS
Creating qualification test plans, procedures, and reports.
Performing integration, verification, and validation of airborne tactical radios.
Performing analysis of signals in space, receivers and transmitters using
Utilizing MBSE tools for collaboration of models across program and business sectors
This position is to plan, lead and conduct system/product requirements development, system/product design, system/product integration and qualification, and oversight of the entire life-cycle of the system/product of various military airborne communication products.
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed fulltime on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Proven ability to lead system engineering projects to completion
Proficient requirements definition, analysis, and management using DOORS
Relevant experience with systems engineering tools such as MagicDraw (or other MBSE tool), DOORS, MATLAB, Simulink.
Proficient in performing integration, verification, and qualification testing of military products / systems
Proficient in a lab environment using spectrum, network, and logic analyzers and other common pieces of test equipment.
Proficient in writing test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
Software Defined Radio experience
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Current U.S. Security clearance
Technical design and development experience with military wireless communication products.
Bachelor's Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering and Masters in Systems Engineering
Engineering Cost Account Manager (CAM) experience.
Six-sigma training
Technical support of manufacturing and / or field platform integration
Amateur ham radio license and experience
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $103590 - $176130
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
