Demand Planning Supervisor

About the Role:
The Demand Planning Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the demand forecasting process to ensure product availability aligns with market needs and business goals. This role is crucial in managing the balance between customer demand, inventory levels, and operational efficiency. The supervisor will lead the demand forecasting analyst team, collaborate with the Supply Planning Operations Supervisor, cross-divisional peers, and utilize data analytics to drive continuous improvement in demand forecasting accuracy. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, leadership capabilities, and the ability to communicate effectively across different levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Demand Forecasting: Develop, maintain, and improve demand forecasts based on historical sales data, market trends, promotional activity, and customer insights. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of forecasts to meet business goals.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the demand planning team, providing guidance, training, and support. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Data Analytics & Reporting: Utilize advanced analytics to improve forecast accuracy, track performance metrics (KPIs), and provide insights to leadership. Develop and maintain dashboards to communicate forecast accuracy, demand variability, and other key indicators.
Collaboration & Communication: Serve as the liaison between demand planning, supply chain, sales, and finance teams to align forecasts and resolve discrepancies. Communicate any risks, opportunities, or changes in demand to stakeholders.
Inventory Management: Work closely with supply planning and logistics teams to ensure optimal stock levels, minimize overstock situations, and reduce out-of-stock occurrences.
Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve the demand planning process by implementing new tools, technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, Statistics, or a related field
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain management, or a related role, with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in demand planning software (e.g. Blue Yonder), strong knowledge of Excel, and familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g.Power BI, Microsoft Access).
Leadership: Proven experience managing teams and leading cross-functional projects.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze large datasets and provide actionable insights.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data and insights to senior leadership.
Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
