CNC Lathe Machinist:
Schedule:Preferably 2nd shift, shift bonus up to $2.50 per hour. 1st shift availability also.
Job Description/Responsibilities
- Primary responsibilities of the position include programming, set-up, and operating CNC lathe machines to fabricate and/or repair metal and nonmetal parts.
- Applicant must be capable of fabricating parts and assemblies from raw material. Must be able to interpret drawings, operate basic machine shop equipment including but not limited to CNC lathes.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, GDandT call-outs, and job orders.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure proper performance.
- Inspect finished products for quality and machine accuracy.
- Ability to adjust machine settings to maintain product quality.
- Responsible for setting up and running products in an effective and efficient manner.
- The position may require estimating jobs, ordering tooling for specific jobs, and creating custom fixturing.
Requirements:
Required:
- Minimum 10 years related practical machine shop experience.
- Minimum 5 years CNC programming, set-up, and machine operation experience. Preferably CNC Lathe focus.
- Ability to use Mastercam software to program or prior experience with other C.A.M. softwares.
- Thorough experience reading prints and holding tight dimensional tolerances.
- Abilities to use inspection equipment such as mics, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, and others.
- Strong knowledge of tooling, cutting speeds, and feeds for various materials
- Experience machining: steels, stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, and plastic materials.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Effective communication skills
- The candidate must be a self-starter and require little supervision.
- Must be able to interface with engineers and other machinists.
Desired:
- Hands on mechanical aptitude
- Experience turning hardened steels.
- Problem-solving capability.
- Journeyman card, or a documented apprenticeship
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $24.00 - $32.01 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week, overtime available
