The Support Equipment Engineering Services group is seeking an Experienced Electrical Engineering System Design Engineer to join their team at Fort Walton Beach, FL. Develops, implements and maintains various manufacturing plans, Bill of Materials, work instructions and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration. Defines, develops and implements the manufacturing plan and represents the program as the primary manufacturing integrator throughout the acquire, define, produce and support phases of the product life cycle. The successful candidate will be responsible to provide real-time operational support and technical expertise in the testing and solving of a variety of avionics. The team supports the repair of F-15 and F/A-18 components. The Support equipment engineering team designs, acquires, coordinates set-up, provides training and produces test procedures needed to successfully repair avionics components. Job requirements include supporting the Automated Test Stations and ancillary equipment used to test the serviceability of avionic components. Experience in support of a repair environment using Automated Test Equipment (ATE) is considered a plus but is not required. Support Equipment engineering services support Test Program Set design from requirements through validation. Computer programming skills with test equipment is a plus.

Supports the development and documentation of electrical test program set environment. Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers. Performs detail design development and modification of electrical system installations. Performs integration at system or component level and modification of avionics systems on support equipment. Assists in preparing technical documents for electrical components and systems.

Works with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements. Analyzes and translates requirements into system, hardware and software designs and interface specifications. Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements. Monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements. Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle. Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide real-time operational support and technical expertise in the testing and solving of a variety of avionics

  • Designs, acquires, coordinates set-up, provides training and produces test procedures needed to successfully overhaul and repair electronic components

  • Prepares technical documents for electrical components and systems

  • Develops, reviews, analyzes, and maintains software in support of testing avionics

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics or physics

  • 5 or more years of related work experience

  • Experience testing or programming software written in C or C++ Experience with the ATLAS programming and test language

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with National Instruments LabView, TestStand, LabWindows

  • Experience with FPGA programming

  • Experience with PXI and VXI instruments

  • Experience with Automated Test Equipment and Test Program Sets

  • Experience with communication protocols including ARINC 1553 and 429, RS422, RS485, RS232

  • Experience with Test Equipment including IEEE instruments with VXI instruments. Relays, DMM, Waveform Analyzer, electronic and resistor loads, serial bus emulators, Digital Test Instruments and Oscilloscopes

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: $96,05 – $129,950
