United States Army Futures Command Experimentation Specialist (Fires) in Fort Sill, Oklahoma
Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for STRL for Direct Support Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: You will serve as EXPERIMENTATION SPECIALIST (FIRES) within the FIRES CDID Battle Lab Division. This position is covered by a Laboratory Personnel Demonstration Project. This position covered by this vacancy announcement is a part of STRL Demo Pay Band III Category I. Responsibilities Develops and writes experimentation plans, command briefings, resource requirements and memorandum of agreements. Writes taskings for staffing and logistic support for experiments. Works with technical and professional staff associated with development and performance of experimentation to inform future capability requirements. Designs experiments to inform current and future force war-fighting concepts, force structure mix, and materiel. Coordinates, hosts, and chairs meetings to best determine sound solutions and prioritize solution sets to enhance warfighter capabilities. Plans, integrates, and synchronizes the experimentation of Army and joint fire support. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Designing and/or conducting analytical studies to support assigned programs/plans; 2) Developing and/or writing experimentation plans for operations; 3) Participating in experimental project modalities including; modeling, simulations and demonstrations; AND 4) Presenting and/or communicating (written/oral) technical data to higher senior officials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower pay band or equivalent GS grade/level position in the federal service (DE-02/GS-11). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent pay band (DE-02/GS-11). All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcements. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the minimum qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
